Introduction:
Today we are introducing about the biography of a person who started his career in such a situation when he had to choose between his family and carrier. He himself did not know that his decision of life would bring him to this place and at this point of success today. Yes friends, we are talking about one of the great poet of the country, Dr. Kumar Vishwas, who has kept people crazy by his poems even in this modern era. So let’s tell you where he started from.
Birth and Education of Kumar Vishwas:
Dr. Kumar Vishwas was born on 10 February 1970 in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. He is the son of Dr. Chandrapal Sharma, who was a teacher by profession. His mother, Mrs. Rama Sharma is a house wife. Kumar has a 5 siblings, including 4 brothers and a sister. Kumar is the youngest one among the family. Wife of Kumar Vishwas’s is Manju Sharma. She is also a lecturer by profession and they have two daughters named Agrata and Kuhu Vishwas.
Early education of Kumar was started from “Lala Ganga Vidyalaya Ghaziabad”. Kumar’s father’s dream was that his son should become an engineer and hence Kumar was admitted to the Engineering College. But Kumar’s mind was not in those machines.He wanted to do something else in his life. Kumar Vishwas finally took the decision and he left his engineering studies midway. He wanted to do something in Hindi literature, so he started his studies related to it and did his BA and MA in Hindi literature where he was a Gold Medalist. After that he did his PhD in Kauravi folk songs in the subject of Public Consciousness. In 2001, he was awarded by the title of “Doctorate”.
After doing Ph. D. in Hindi literature, Kumar started his career as a Hindi lecturer. He started his career in 1994 from Lala Lajpat Rai College in Pillibanga, Rajasthan where he used to teach students. Kumar worked as a lecturer for 16 years. As a Hindi poet, he touched heights during this period, his favorite style is Shringar Ras. Apart from this, Kumar also wrote songs for Hindi TV serials. As a writer, he also wrote articles for various magazines on various issues. Kumar also made several contracts for writing scripts, dialogues and songs for Hindi films and TV serials.
Entry in Political career:
In 2011, social activist Anna Hazare started a campaign against corruption in the country and went on a hunger strike to meet his demands like appointing Jan Lokpal. Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia, along with poet Kumar Vishwas, were among the supporters who made their contribution influenced by this campaign of Anna. Being a successful Hindi poet, Kumar gained immense popularity after joining this campaign. Kumar was among the supporters of Anna who was arrested on 16 August 2011.
However, there were ideological differences between Anna and Kejriwal. Kejriwal got separated from Anna and then founded the Aam Aadmi Party, in which Kumar was also an important member. AAP party was founded in Delhi on 26 November 2012. The party first decided to contest the Delhi Assembly elections held on December 4, 2014. After this, in 2014 Lok Sabha elections, the AAP party decided to field its candidates, including Kumar.
Kumar was given a ticket against the current Congress president Rahul Gandhi from his family seat in Amethi. Kumar lost to Rahul Gandhi in this election. After this, due to no single party getting majority in Delhi, the assembly elections were held again in the year 2015, in which the AAP party registered a spectacular victory. AAP got 67 seats in 70 elections. Although Kumar did not contest as a candidate in this election, but he played an important role in the victory of the party. Kumar’s statements were the subject of discussion during the election.
Kumar Vishwas and controversy:
During 2013, Delhi Assembly elections, Kumar and other party members were shown as illegally taking donations for the party in a sting operation. However, later the Aam Aadmi Party also took action against that media portal. The portal named “Aapka Sarkar.com” and members of the AAP party filed a report against each other. The police had also assured to prosecute the accused after investigation.
After this, the video clip of a poet conference also went viral in which Kumar, Imam Hussain, were shown using abusive language against the Hindu gods and nurses of Kerala. After this, video clip went viral on social media, many cases were registered against Kumar. Kumar described the video as false and said that the clip had been tampered with, but later apologized for his words and said that he had no motive to offend any religion or person.
In 2016, Kumar was accused of sexual exploitation by a party worker. In view of the complaint of the worker, the court filed an FIR against Kumar. Orders were also given to register, although during the investigation, Delhi Police did not find any strong evidence against Kumar. Kumar got caught in another controversy in July 2017, when film actor Amitabh Bachchan accused him of violating copyright law. Kumar had actually uploaded the video on social media channel YouTube to sing a poem by Amitabh’s father and famous poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan. Amitabh had also sent a legal notice against Kumar, citing violation of copyright law, ordering Kumar to remove the video within 24 hours. Along with this notice, Amitabh also demanded the revenue earned from this video. Kumar had removed the video while replying to Amitabh’s tweet, sending him 32 rupees earned from poetry on YouTube.
During this time, reports of estrangement came from Kumar and AAP’s Mukhia Arvind Kejriwal and other members. Amidst this quarrel, Kumar even threatened to leave the party.
Work & Achievements:
Apart from making regular appearances in various journals, Dr. Kumar Vishwas has published two books- ‘Ek Pagli ladki Ke Bin’ (1996) and ‘Koi Deewana Kehta Hai’ (2007 and 2010 in two volumes). Eminent writer Late Dharamvir Bharti has called Dr. Vishwas as the most likely poet of this generation. First-class Hindi lyricist ‘Neeraj’ has called him ‘Nisha-niyamak’. Famous comic poet Dr. Surendra Sharma called him the only “ISO: 2006” poet of this generation.
