What is corona virus?
Corona virus (COV) belongs to a family of viruses whose infection can cause problems ranging from a cold to breathlessness. This virus has never been seen before. The virus infection started in December in Wuhan, China. According to WHO, its symptoms are fever, cough, shortness of breath. So far no vaccine has been made to stop the virus from spreading.
What are the symptoms of this disease?
Due to its infection, problems like fever, cold, shortness of breath, runny nose and sore throat arise. This virus spreads from person to person. Therefore, great care is being taken about this. The virus first caught in China in December. It is expected to reach other countries
What are the preventive measures?
The Ministry of Health has issued guidelines to prevent corona virus. According to them, hands should be washed with soap. Alcohol based hand rub can also be used. Keep your nose and mouth covered with handkerchief or tissue paper while coughing and peeling. Stay away from people who have cold and flu symptoms. Avoid intake of eggs and meat. Avoid exposure to wild animals.
What kind of preparation should India keep?
Instructions have already been issued by the Ministry of Civil Aviation regarding passengers traveling from China and Hong Kong. Along with this, the Ministry of Health has also issued an advisory.
Every passenger is being tested by thermal screening at the airport. Any passenger in which the increased temperature will be found will be examined and then will be sent for testing to check for infection as per WHO guidelines.
How serious is the corona virus?
Usually, a person infected with Corona Virus shows symptoms of cold, cough and cold, but in severe cases the person infected with this virus can also die.
According to Professor Jonathan Ball of Nottingham University, this is a completely new type of corona virus, which has passed from animals to humans.
