A player who was said by the famous Indian cricket team coach “Greg Chappell” that he should quit cricket, he cannot be a good cricketer. But still he did not give up and continued to grow in his game with dedication and today that talented player is part of IPL and Indian team on the strength of his hard work.
Friends, I am going to discuss about a rising star Deepak Chahar, who is a right-handed middle-order bowler. Who made everyone pay attention to his performance in Ranji and today he is considered as one of the best players in IPL. Friends today we will discuss about some important information of Deepak Chahar’s life.
Deepak Chahar’s early life and family
Deepak was born on 7 August 1992 in Agra. His resident is at Ganganagar in Rajasthan, Deepak’s father’s name is Lokendra Singh Chahar, who is a retired Airforce officer. The biggest hand behind the success of Deepak Chahar’s is that of his father Lokendra Chahar,who had even left an army job for his son as Deepak’s attention was repeatedly diverted due to the job, while his father wanted him to be a good cricketer. Then Lokendra resigned from the job in October 2006, so that there should be no problem in the practice of his son.
Deepak was very fond of cricket since childhood. He used to go to the cricket academy of Hanumangarh, which was about 50 km away each day. At the same time, he learned the nuances of cricket from Navendu Tyagi.
Deepak Chahar’s cousin Rahul Chahar has also played international cricket for India. Rahul Chahar is a leg spin bowler and also bat in the lower order with the right hand.
Entry and major performance in domestic cricket
In 2010–11 Ranji tournament, for the first time, Deepak Chahar got a chance to play for Rajasthan. Since then, he has been consistently showing the brilliance of his out-swing bowling in domestic cricket.
8 wickets for 10 runs in the first match:
Deepak took 8 wickets in his first match and put Hyderabad on the lowest score in his history in Ranji whereas Hyderabad had scored only 21 runs in this match. It was in this match that he caught the attention of the people. But Deepak Chahar had the misfortune that he fell ill in the middle, as he had jaundice, due to which he could not get up from bed. When he recovered once, he again got injured in 2012-13 Ranji season.
There was a time in Deepak’s life that he felt that his career had ended. But he did not give up and returned once again. In this war of 2011-12, IPL team Rajasthan Oils gave him a place in his team, but he did not get a chance to play.
Important part of Dhoni’s team in IPL:
He was a part of Chennai Super Kings from 2011 to 2015 in IPL. Then played for Rising Pune Supergiants team during 2016–2017. In 2018, Chennai Super Kings added him to his team. Mahendra Singh Dhoni used his bowling talent.
In 2019, in the 12th edition of an IPL, he made an impressive performance,by playing for Chennai Super Kings. Total 17 matches were played during the tournament, Deepak took 22 wickets at an average of 21.90.
Enter in international cricket:
Deepak Chahar played his first 20-20 match against England on 8 July 2018. He had not perform well in the first match and in the bowling of 4 overs, he gave 43 runs and took the valuable wicket of Jason Rai.
England’s team managed to score 198 runs in this match, losing 9 wickets in 20 overs. However, thanks to Rohit Sharma’s brilliant century (100 runs from 56 balls), Team India won the match by losing just 3 wickets in 18.4 overs.
Played first ODI against Afghanistan:
Deepak got his first international ODI to play against Afghanistan in 2018 Asia Cup. Deepak Chahar failed to make his mark even in this match and bowled 4 overs, he gave 37 runs and took 1 wicket.
The Afghanistan team scored 252 runs in this match, by losing 8 wickets in 50 overs. In reply, Team India also score 252 runs after losing all 10 wickets in 50 overs and the match was tied.
Deepak Chahar created history (India Vs Bangladesh T20 Match)
The real hero of the victory proved to be Deepak Chahar who took 6 wickets for 7 runs in 3.2 overs, by bowling a brilliant history of T20. Chahar created new history in this match by taking two consecutive wickets, one and then three consecutive wickets. This is the best bowling ever in T20 International cricket. Earlier, Sri Lanka bowler Ajanta Mendis took 6 wickets for 8 runs against Zimbabwe in 2012. Deepak Chahar broke this record in Nagpur.
