Early Life
Mayank Agarwal who was born on 16 February 1991 in Bangalore, the capital of the Indian state of Karnataka. His father’s name is Pranab Kumar Pandey and mother’s is Suchitra Singh. His brother’s name is Raj Kishan. His grandfather’s name is Ravindra Agarwal.
Mayank got his early education from Bishop Cotton Boys School in Bangalore. After that he received his further education from Jain University. Sushil Aggarwal, brother of Mayank Agarwal’s grandfather, points out that Mayank was fond of cricket since childhood but at times Mayank felt depressed, but he never gave up and and proved himself. Mayank used to say, “I will succeed on my own, just let my time come.” He says that whenever Mayank used to come to Saharanpur, he used to play cricket with children. Mayank is very fond of Saharanpur.

Career
Mayank Agarwal’s name first came to the headlines in 2008-09 while he performed brilliantly for his team in the Under-19 Coach Behar Trophy. He was rewarded for his consistently impressive performance in domestic cricket and in the following year, he was also selected in the ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup. Mayank also performed tremendously in this tournament and scored the most runs from India. He was also adjudged Man of the Series for his outstanding performance in the 2010 Karnataka Premier League.
Triple century scored in Ranji Trophy
In November 2017, during the Ranji Trophy tournament of 2017–18, Mayank Agarwal added his first triple century in first-class cricket.In the match played against Maharashtra, Mayank scored an unbeaten 304. During this tournament, Mayank scored total 1160 runs, the most runs scored by any batsman in that season.
Thanks to this great performance in the Ranji Trophy, he was bought by Kings XI Punjab in 2018 IPL auction. In cricket, india continued its impressive performance in domestic cricket. In 2017–18 Vijay Hazare Trophy, he scored 723 runs in 8 matches and was the tournament’s best scorer.

Mayank Agarwal made his international debut for India in December 2018 against Australia. He has scored 76 runs at an average of 76.00 in 1 Test played in his international career (as of 26 December 2018), including 01 half-century.
Mayank Agarwal’s IPL career
Mayank Agarwal started his IPL career in 2011 by the Royal Challengers Bangalore team. Mayank, who played for Royal Challengers Bangalore (2011–2013) Delhi Daredevils (2014–2016), Rising Pune Supergiant (2017) in the IPL is currently a part of Kings XI Punjab. He has scored 938 runs in 64 matches played in his IPL career at an average of 16.75, including 03 fifties. His highest score in the IPL is 68 runs.
Madhav Rao Scindia Award
In season 2017-18, Mayank scored a total of 2,141 runs in all formats of the domestic season. Till then, it was the best total made by any Indian player in a domestic season.
Mayank Agarwal also received the Madhav Rao Scindia Award from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in June 2018 for scoring the most runs in Ranji Trophy. The following year, in the Vijay Hazare Trophy of 2018-19, Mayank scored 251 runs from 7 matches for Karnataka and was the best scorer for his team. Thanks to these good performances, Mayank Agarwal was included in India B for the Deodhar Trophy of 2018–19.
In September 2018, Mayank Agarwal was also named in the squad selected for the Test series against the West Indies, but he did not get a chance to play a single match in the series. On 26 December 2018, Mayank made his international debut by playing a Test match against Australia. He got this chance due to the injury of the immediate opener Prithvi Shaw.
At the Melbourne Cricket Ground, Mayank scored 76 runs in his first innings and upheld the confidence of the team management. Against Australia, this was the best score made by an Indian in the first Test match.
Before him, this record was in the name of former Indian cricketer Dattu Phadkar, who scored 51 runs in 1947 match at the Sydney Cricket Ground. Mayank Agarwal got a chance to play in the fourth match of the series and scored a total of 195 runs in 2Tests.
In July 2019, he was included in India’s team when Vijay Shankar was injured during the Cricket World Cup. However, Mayank did not get a chance to play any match in the World Cup after being eliminated from the Indian team after losing to New Zealand in the semi-finals.
First century changed to double century
In Test match played in Visakhapatnam against South Africa in October 2019, Mayank produced a brilliant cricketing model. Mayank scored 215 runs in the first innings. In this innings, Mayank hit 6 sixes and 23 fours and held one end of the batting for 8 hours with a strike rate of 57.95. This is his first century in Test cricket and also his first double century. He is the fourth batsman from India to convert his first century into a double century. Not only this, he also played a record opening partnership of 317 runs for the first wicket with Rohit Sharma.
